A protracted weekend on Victoria’s Shipwreck Coast is extra enjoyable when your Camplify caravan beats you to the vacation park, writes Catherine Greatest.

Like a pot of gold on the backside of the rainbow, Warrnambool is a hidden treasure on the finish of the Nice Ocean Highway. Whereas many highway trippers bypass the city (the highway technically ends 12 kilometres east of right here), they’re lacking out. Warrnambool and the Shipwreck Coast is a three-hour drive west of Melbourne.

Residence to migrating whales, rugged sea cliffs, golden seashores and a storied maritime historical past, Warrnambool is the jewel of Western Victoria. For teenagers, this seaside city is a spot of shipwreck tales, wildlife encounters and salty adventures, all wrapped within the scars of volcanoes previous.

The Shipwreck Coast is made up of the cities of Warrnambool and its fascinating seaside neighbours, Port Fairy, Portland and Port Campbell, bookended by inexperienced dairy nation.
